For decades, Big Oil companies have knowingly fueled catastrophic climate damages while deceiving the public about the dangers of fossil fuels.

Now they want to stop communities from holding them accountable for the harm they caused.

IT’S TIME TO MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD.

On Monday, October 5, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear Big Oil’s arguments to escape trial in one of the dozens of lawsuits that states, counties, cities, and tribes have filed to make fossil fuel companies pay for their climate deception.

WHAT IS SUNCOR v. BOULDER ABOUT?

The City and County of Boulder, Colorado, are suing ExxonMobil and Suncor Energy to hold them accountable for concealing the dangers of their fossil fuel products and to make them pay for the resulting local damages, including more destructive fires, droughts, and extreme heat. Last year, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Boulder’s case should proceed toward trial.

Now, Big Oil wants the U.S. Supreme Court to stop the case before the people of Boulder have their day in court to present the evidence against Exxon and Suncor.
